- Senator John W H Chan was the APDC Chairman.
- Senator Andrew Wong was appointed as the Special Assistant to JCI World President for Liaison with UN Agencies in Asia.
- For the first time, the National Convention of Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce was held in Macau, hosted by the Macau Jaycees.
- Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce won 3 LOM Awards and the Debate Contest at the JCI Kaohsiung Conference.
- Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce won 1 LOM Certificate of Merit at the JCI Cartagena World Congress.
- Miss Tsang Wai Yin ( 曾慧燕), a 1984 TOYP Awardee of Hong Kong, was selected as a TOYP of the World Honoree during the JCI Cartagena World Congress.
